Last week I spent Thursday traveling all the way up Michigan from Saint Clair at the base of the thumb to the Keweenaw Peninsula during peak color season. I don't think I could have picked a better time. Michigan was aflame with color the entire trip. Most of the color was from maples, but there were some oak, sumac and others with bright color.
There was at least as much color in the upper peninsula:
Some closeups of leaves:
We finally got to my sister's place in the Keweenaw:
We found some interesting colorful fungi on her place, plus a bald eagle:

I love the colours this time of year. Lovely pictures :D
Beautiful Colors! I'm in Upstate, N.Y. so I know what you mean ... it's beautiful here too. :-)
oh wow they are beautiful pictures! Thank you for sharing.
I would have been "ooohing and ahhing" the whole drive :)
Beautiful pics - thanks for sharing!
It looks amazing but it is also why it is my favourite time of the year :).
I have it a reasonably good authority that the little orange mushroom is called orange peal.
It's been a beautiful fall here too! (near Madison, WI) Anytime I drive anywhere even if I'm alone I'll be saying, "Oh, look at that one." "Gorgeous", etc, etc. lol!
Beautiful pics.
Marvellous pictures - unfortunately we cannot compete with the amount of colours here in Bavaria as we don't have these huge deciduous forests but rather needle forests here in Bavaria!
*sigh* I so miss Michigan in the Fall.
BEAUTIFUL! Makes me want to go on a road trip! LOL!! Oh, and you did a fantastic job on lining up all your pictures!! :)
